Strathcona County asked how a modern platform creates, manages and distributes community notices for local, non-life-threatening events while letting residents opt in to what is relevant to them. Alberta Emergency Alert stays the channel for life-threatening events

Communikit carries local advisories and urgent community notices, water and fire bans, parking bans, facility and road closures. Selecting a life-threatening priority in the console does not broadcast: it hands the incident off to Alberta Emergency Alert and records the referral in the audit log.
